I knew it. I was prepared and....I kinda don't want them to get back together....

I want to see her on a new journey, in Rome, with Marcello. He got her to stop putting work first, to relax and also was outside of all that drama that has been on cycle.

She always doubted the possibility of her and Gabriel, and in the end it could be argued due to that held belief, they were doomed to fail. He rightly brought that up in the argument however he is not without fault.

I think if the show ends with Emily moving to Rome and running the Italian office with a new love, will make the show come full circle. She’ll have everything she wanted minus going back home. But at least she’ll be with someone willing to go back home with her to see her family. It’s everything she deserves.

Gabriel ranting in French to Emily about what is wrong witht their relationship was the highlight of this season to me, whatever he said was on point and his facial expressions were perfect.

I feel like he got carried away with the thought of a child and his familiar concern for Camille, plus him and Emily were both so trepidatious with one another at the beginning, basically one foot already out the door. They require all the necessary elements, they need the romance, passion, connection & chemistry which they have in spades but also the monotony of regular brutally honest communication, consistency, effort, planning, working to build something together etc etc. They need to put actual work into this, they can’t just expect their relationship to soar without building, sustaining and repairing the wings under it. I’m glad they failed so overwhelmingly at first, so that they can both see what it takes to really succeed, especially Gabriel and he will because they truly are endgame, there is no doubt in my mind about that.

I do not even know what would I like to happen, but Emily was really mature in understanding her boundaries and her communication and that Gabriel might feel good but it’s not the right person at the moment. I also liked how she seems to have learnt and developed as a person, she learnt a bit of French after being in the country for a long time and she doesn’t understand it, but she opens herself up to Italian language accepting that she’s not the one others are going to change for, it’s an improvement in my opinion. So. Well. The Emily that we have now it’s a bit more mature and humble, she’s learning, and for sure she’s doing better than Gabriel.

Despite the fact that I absolutely adored their pairing since Season 1, & the fact that I’m extremely dissapointed in the way they left things in Season 4, I have a glimmer of hope that finally, Gabriel’s going to start fighting for Emily in Season 5. So far in Season 4, particularly in Part 2 of Season 4, I feel like he just, stopped trying to work things & communicate with Emily, which was extremely heartbreaking & unexpected, considering everything they’ve endured since Season 1. Despite having been with different people throughout the previous seasons, they simply have a connection & love for each-other that doesn’t translate in their relationships with their significant partners, like with Emily & Alfie or Gabriel & Camille, they simply can’t love anybody else like they love each-other. I think that Emily shifting to Rome is what it’s finally going to take for Gabriel to realize the mistake he’s made by not fighting for Emily, & he’s going to start fighting for her back in Season 5. They’re definitely end-game, we’re talking about the creator of this show, who’s also the guy who wrote Carrie to end with Mr.Big in the end, in Sex and the City.

To be honest, I'm not so convinced this is the end for them. The ending in itself, the scene between Alfie and Gabriel, the voicemail. Maybe I am delusional but it felt more like the definitive turning point, but in a positive way? Don't really know how to put it into words but I was scared about part 2 and I knew a break up was coming and yet... it left me feeling more positive and hopeful than I expected? I feel like Gabriel is actually going to fight for her now, and I guess deep down a part of me thinks it would be very silly to have built up the show and the story for season around them for them to drift apart like that. It's been shown from day 1 that there's a certain je ne sais quoi between them, a connection that is slightly different from the ones they both have with other people. Again, maybe I am misinterpreting, but I have a feeling all this doom may actually be good for Gabriel and Emily, being the definitive push for them to grow and find their way back to each other (another them of EIP, I think, is that somehow they always end up gravitating towards each other) and stay together for good.

Tbh what Alfie said in the end was kinda true, Emily is a flawed character but that’s what makes her relatable, secondly her humility and compassion towards people makes her a loving character despite of the various irritating decisions she takes but that’s what makes her real, she is definitely the greatest girl and Alfie knows he lost her as he was arrogant and he let the misunderstandings and his ego come in between, it’s funny because it was the timing, Cami pointed out that she was still single what was he worried about and till he realised it it was too late. Same goes for Gabriel, external factors did make things weird for them but he was kind off not communicating well as well, leaving her in the mountains was definitely a douche move and a simple sorry was not going to do the magic, instead he started showing tantrums even when he was at fault, I understand his pain but if he loved her so much why would he do the same thing again like season 2. In both the cases, Emily did make an effort even after being misunderstood both the times, her feelings kinda gets played and her taking a leap of faith and taking off to Rome, doing something spontaneous, trying her best to not mix work and relationships was major character development. I feel if Marcello doesn’t commit the same mistakes then she should stay with him as the whole back and forth will not be worth it. Like Alfie, Gabriel should just move on.

From the 1st season Gabriel did her wrong. She tried so much for him but he was never sure never one minded. And Emily was so desperate for him that everytime things didn't go well with Camie he went to Emily like he left everything for her and she was always dumb enough to believe him and left the great guy she was with(Alfi). Gebriel is selfish he wants everything camie Emily success he wants to everyones top priority when he act like thee great one who is managing everyone

Emily always visits other people homes but ever since she came to Paris she never went back to Chicago, she is the main character in the show, they need to show us Emily’s family, her house not her temporary boyfriends biodata

The timing between them was never right but a relationship requires hard work, commitment and willingness to survive.
They were never a fantasy but Emily usually has been overwhelmed by doubts and the main idea that it would never work. He, on the other hand, was hurt and lashing out on her and failed in putting her first in his life.
The falling in love stage ended, their bubble exploded, and when things got serious everything ended badly.
I really feel like they never found a common ground to fight for each other instead of letting go, which was always easier. I mean, he needed space and she moved to another country and started dating Marcello (?).
I confess I kind of enjoyed an angry Gabriel, he was honest, raw and less of a people pleaser (which is an improvement from previous seasons). I justify his mistakes because of his inability to move on from everything that had happened to him.
From my POV their relationship needs to be real but NOT perfect. I read many people saying Gabriel & Emily are toxic but there's a thick line between trying to make something happen and being toxic. She can't keep running away every time an obstacle appears on the way (but she did try to be there for him), as he can't reject her just because he is angry. I'm prepared to see them growing together and talking.
I like Marcello but he is an easy choice, he represents butterflies, but some loves in life are worth it because they are so special that the idea of losing them is a nightmare and they share a deep connection. I do empathize with Emily and think she couldn't stay in Paris begging to get crumbs of love from Gabriel.
PS: Emily needs to choose a guy and stick to it wether it would be in Rome or Paris.

They both had the chance to make things work out nicely.First mistake was done by Emily when she had chance to give Gabriel more priority, but she met with Camille & made stupid pact & dump Gabriel.They both felt unhappy. Another chance Gabriel had;after the skiing part he should apologise to Emily & give her time.Rather he was wasting time with Camille & intentionally give Emily less attention. He not only lost his chance but also showed Emily he moved on. Better Emily shouldn’t give him priority more than Marcelo.
