COMMAS WITH INTRODUCTIONS & TRANSITIONS

In today's lesson, Kevin teaches you how to use commas with introductory and transitional words/phrases.

DIRECTIONS: Place commas where they belong in each sentence. Some sentences may not require commas at all.
1. During the movie she got up to use the bathroom.
2. Before work I always go for a run.
3. After dinner you need to finish your homework.
4. If you’re going to do it you’d better do it now.
5. When you get here just ring the doorbell.
6. Yes I’ll be there.
7. Well that was interesting.
8. When you get the chance can you mow the lawn?
9. Unfortunately I can’t make it to the party.
10. Luckily we were able to escape.

ANSWERS:

Sooo.. I have a questions. I’m studying grammar for a test I’ll be taking in October. The book with the study guide is telling me this is the correctly punctuated sentence.

Although I enjoy running, I would never want to run a marathon.

I’m confused as to why the comma is after run. I initially thought it should be after although and after running.

Help please, if you have time :)

isnt after a subordinating conjunction, so it makes the sentence a dependent clause. Whats the difference from a depndent clause and an introduction thanks.

How to differentiate between subordinating conjunction and transitions? for me it is quite complicated to know which one is subordinating conjunctions and which is transition word!

I'm like 40 years old and I think I just learned that a sentence contains a predicate and a subject? The predicate is the verb right? Wow English is hard.
