Speaking as someone who grew up with severe TS and wrote a book about my childhood experiences, I have never watched her Instagram or other social media, and have only seen the previews. I will reserve judgment until I watch a couple of episodes of the show, but much of what I have seen doesn't ring true. Many of her outbursts appear to be behaviors and not involuntary tics, and the dramatic scene where she seems to be having a seizure while someone is holding her down is more akin to epilepsy than TS. Another thing I'm concerned about is that TLC has a habit of going for exploitive drama on these reality shows such as 90 Day Fiance, Sister Wives, and I Am Jazz, to get the higher ratings. So the subjects are encouraged by producers to play to the cameras for maximum effect. This runs entirely counter to sufferers of TS, who try to mask or cover our tics, and keep a low profile, not let it all hang out or exaggerate our condition. I'm worried that's what this show will be doing, going for maximum effect and ratings, which does no good for promoting TS awareness. Baylen might have TS, but I'm not sure that is what this show will be portraying.

... That being said... I also see some jealousy hidden in the background although she is deeply concerned for her sister

I cry a little every time I watch this show. Baylen is so genuine and sweet. I can't even imagine having to deal with all of that everyday. My prayers are for her and her family. You can do it Baylen!!!❤️
