You can use your knee or elbow pads as an emergency tailgate cover.. just use the straps to strap them down on your downtube and they should protect your bike.

Oh guys, here’s another tip, don’t spray your shoes in that waterproofing stuff. For 1, it will make your feet sweat so much that your socks will just get wet. just thought I would throw that out there so you don’t make the same mistake I did.

Scotchguard /fabric waterproofing spray is also great for spraying on cassettes. Crud won't stick! I rarely have to scrub them since I started doing this. (Just keep it off your discs!)

I was out mountain biking and came across an old .22 long rifle casing. I picked it up and carried it with me to throw away later. During that same ride, my buddy crashed and messed his derailleur up and caused the cable to fray. I took the casing out and put it over then end of the cable, smashed it with pliers, and after a few minutes of fixing and tweaking, the derailleur worked just as it did before. I now keep a couple casings in my bag that I find along the trails for cables. It recycles and also looks bad-ass.

Hey Seth! I have always used packaging tape that you can find at postal offices for under 3$ as frame protection, it works very well and each pack has about 8 feet of tape 👍
