To all the experienced plant friends. Which other plants would you recommend for absolute beginners to start off with and which ones should they avoid? Let them know and share your personal experience.

Listen! My ZZ plant was neglected on purpose to see how it would fare and it basically told me "Challenge accepted! Hold my beer fertilizer!" Now it has over 8 new stalks in two months. It's definitely not bothered at all and now proclaims to be an Independent Woman (her name is Zoe Zalicious). 😊

I was an over-waterer as a beginner. My recommendation for beginners is to get plants that can survive overwatering lol or the cheapest plants until you learn how to manage your compulsion to water plants.

My sentiments exactly - my plants have given me sanity and peace during these crazy times. Thank you for the videos while we're staying home!

I have 88 plants and 77 are pothos. I love them. I can't neglect them because they've got me surrounded.

Even though I am not a beginner I'll still be drawn to these because they are so easy and make me happy when they are pushing out new growth!

I started with succulents. I find them really easy to take care of: just give them all the sun you have 🙃 and if you do a mistake - just cut it and it will grow new roots! Amazing!

I agree. Calatheas are sooo fussy! But the first one I had was the reason why I got into plants. Up until then I just had plants and never really cared about them until I bought a Calathea warscewiczii at Ikea because it looked so nice and it just started dying as soon as i brought it home. Then was when I started reading about the different kind of plants and really got hooked.

I always think that if they come from a big box store, where the workers don’t give special treatment to plants...then I could probably take care of it at home.

I'm so lucky, because some of the first non-succulent plants I bought when I was new, were two maiden hairs! Everyone was telling that they were so picky, and they would probably die. Two years later and they are alive and absolutely THRIVING! For me, my maiden hairs are some of the most forgiving plants I've had. I had one in bad conditions and it (pretty much) died, so I moved it and cared for it and now she's beautiful again! So if they die back, DON'T. THROW. THEM. OUT. Give them a few weeks to recover!

Edit: For over-waterers, I would reccomend a peace lily! They work well in most lighting, and need to be constantly wet. You can also often find them discounted at shops because they're underwatered and look like death. But if you take them home and water them, within a couple of hours they'll be back to normal, AND you got a cheap plant!

Ugh the neon pothos is one I have been really drawn to. I love for my plants to hang and creep along the floor or shelves that its on. I like when they go up but I loooove when they hang

My first plant was a prayer plant that had root rot and every single leaf was curled. It is now growing new growths left and right and looking gorgeous.

Hi again, Christian. Always enjoy your channel. I'm itching to get to a plant shop however, as with all of us, we are under self-quarantine. Oh well. . . I get
to enjoy and spoil the plants I already have--but you can never have enough. Great choice of music by the way. Cheers!
