We Filipinos consider the start of the Christmas Season on the first of September because we love to countdown to something Big. And as a dominant Christian Nation where 90% are Christians, we are happy to know that the Birth of our Lord and Savior is nearing and we want to celebrate that coming day as long as we can. That is true love to the Faith and the Festive Season. But with that said, We also respect all and other Religious beliefs as well, as we are all brothers and sisters in Gods Eye.

You see, us Filipinos who lives in the Philippines, We do not have or celebrate Thanksgiving, and we do not celebrate Halloween either. Though we honour the dead during that day by visiting our dearly departed loved ones on November 1, we do not really hold spooky Halloween parties like other places in the world. So the next Big Thing is of course "Christmas" or "Pasko" as we call it.

We do not celebrate the day of 'Christmas' itself on the month of September. NO. We celebrate and honour the 'Countdown to Christmas' starting September first, hence the term Christmas "Season" where we celebrate the 100 Days of the coming of the birth of Christ. Therefore having the "Longest Christmas Season in the World".

I don't find anything wrong about that at all, even from the beginning. And i sincerely believe that neither should anyone else. In fact, people should be proud of that mindset.

It makes us Happy knowing that the Most Wonderful Time of the Year is closing in. And what better way to celebrate it than to celebrate it as long as you can.

And as far as i know, there is no Universal Law that prevents us from celebrating or honouring the upcoming Birth of our Lord early on and decorating our places with festive lights to commemorate and honour the upcoming holiday. it is actually good for our Mental Health as it provides us with the Warmth and Joy that the Season brings.

And by saying that it is only a so called 'Marketing Stunt' and 'Commercialisation' to boost product sales, the answer is a big NO. because Malls and Brands did not 'Invent' this tradition, as Malls and Brands only respond to people's behaviour and interest.

with that said, Happy Ber Months.
