You guys can help me out over at Patreon, and that will help me keep my gear updated, and help me keep this quality content coming:

In this lesson we take you through an important engineering method known as dimensional analysis. This technique will allow you to convert between any set of units into any other set of units.

Thank you for creating these videos. I am 62 years old and have always wanted to learn electronics. I have tried several times in the past but gave up. I gave up not because I lacked the interest, I gave up because I could never find training that I could understand. Your videos keep my interest and I have learned a tremendous amount. Thanks again and I hope you plan to create more of these videos. You are an awesome teacher!

I feel we are witnessing the convergence of Fred Rogers teaching mastery while sitting inside Neil deGrasse Tysons personal planetarium. Paul McWhorter delivers brilliance. Thank you so much sir!

As soon as Paul said "you need to multiply by 1"a lightbulb went on in my head and I stopped the video . No further explanation necessary! Thank you!

Thanks for another informative video!
1) Speed of light was 1, 802, 617, 499, 785.3 furlongs per fortnight.
2) At the current exchange rate gasoline in Uganda is 2, 091.985 shillings per liter.
3) An ounce of gold and an ounce of feathers is kind of a trick question -
they weigh the same if you are using avoirdupois ounces for both, although the volume of the feathers would be much greater than the gold. However, gold is commonly weighed in troy ounces at 31.10 grams to the troy ounce, while feathers would be weighed in avoirdupois ounces at 28.35 grams to the avoirdupois ounce, meaning the gold would be heavier in grams than the feathers if each were being weighed in their customary measure. The troy ounce of gold would convert to approximately 1.09714 avoirdupois ounces which is heavier than the avoirdupois ounce of feathers. Haha thank you for a fun math lesson!

Thank you Mr.McWhorter, this was amazing! I love this.

Love your math classes Paul, so easy to understand and the why behind it. Any plans on creating a math series?

Love your methodical approach to mathematics. Precious metals are measured in Troy ounces. One Troy ounce is 3/4 of an avoirdupois ounce. Therefore one ounce of feathers weighs more that an ounce of Au.

Hey Paul, thanks for this amazing Arduino Series. Thank you for explaining how to use Dimensional Analysis. I completed the assignment and the results i got were:

1. - Speed of light in mph is equal to 1802617498752 furlongs/fortnights
2. - $2.30/gallon of Gasoline would cost 2124.54 ugandan shillings/liter

3. - What weighs more, an ounce of gold or an ounce of feathers?
Since you didnt say fluid ounce than i assume we are comparing them by weight not volume so they would we the same.

1) c = 180*10^9 furlong/fortnight
2) 2264 shilling/ litre
3) both are same :) both are 1 ounce
Thank you so much for the lesson Sir

That's always been one of the confusing aspects of Math for me. Before I understood better in high school, 23*[inches/second] seems to suggest that 23 should be multiplied by both the numerator and the denominator. I always felt more secure in starting the problem as 23 inches / 1 second. This ensured that I wouldn't accidently attempt to multiply the same number on both sides.

Gold is measured in Troy ounces and feathers in Avoirdupois ounces. There's a weight difference: Gold is 31.1 grams, while feathers are 28.4 grams. Gold is heavier. I have the other two done but had trouble posting the equations in the comments.

Students complain when I won't let them use the "map" function, having them do the calculation within the line of code manually. Why" They ask. "Because you would be lost if you didn't have access to such a function." I love than you've done the math during all your projects. A function really doesn't do much for you unless you understand the underlying mathematical mechanics. Thanks for another great lesson that will be passed on to my students.

Hello sir i have been following u since a couple of years ...nd i really find ur tutorials very helpful.

Ur students out there are very lucky to get a teacher like u ...u r just osm in your field...

Sir actually i was studying the wireless communication between two arduino boards using the nrf24l01 module but could not really find a perfect tutorial ....
I would b very thankful if...u happen to help..me..

Also...eagerly waiting for ur tutorials regarding ur eagle projects.🙂

HUGE RESPECT FOR U SIR..
God bless u may u live.
Long..💕

Sir, I need to connect Multiplex to drive 4 LRA drivers and need to program vibration depends on measured distance, is there any tutorial to learn multiplexer and drive with Arduino?

Used dimensional analysis in my work setting as previously described. I also used it in my college chemistry class for Stoichiometry; the analysis/measurement of how elements combine to form compounds; H2O, CO2, H2SO4.
Answers; 1) 2.253267072 x 10e12, 2) 2250.78 USh/l, Neither, weight in ounces is based on the gravitational pull or force based on the mass of an object. Since one ounce of feathers and one ounce of gold have the same weight, their mass would be the same. F=ma

H/W: i) speed of light is 1.806 x 10^12 Furlong/Fortnight. ii) gasoline price is 2.245 x 10^3 Ugandan shillings / litre. iii) an ounce of gold weighs more.
is it correct?
