DJI Air 3 One Year Later - Long Term Review

The DJI Air 3 has been out for about a year now and it has proven to be one of my favorite drones that DJI has produced to date. It is nestled nicely in between the Mini 4 Pro and the Mavic 3 series when it comes to both price and size. It's a full featured drone with all the intelligent flight features you would expect but still in a nice small travel friendly size. This video is about my user experience with the DJI Air 3 after flying it for the past year.

This quickly became my goto drone shorty after getting it last August. Mostly for the reasons you pointed out in your review. I prefer it over the Mini 4 Pro because of the 3X tele lens. Great long term review Shawn, and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Shawn - many good points made. I actually fly Air 3 more than Mavic 3. Heres why. With the Hasselblad, Mavic 3 is obviously capable of incredible imaging. I do find it more a "collection of cameras, tweaked to work well together" - we didn't even have D-log M on the 166mm equivalent camera at launch. Air 3, while not having that main camera, has 2 cameras that work as a pair. Every single feature works the same across both, even allowing Waypoints to do super slow 3x-7x zooms from one WP to the next or, using "auto" zoom on the middle one, across 3 waypoints. Everyone who has one knows how great the 70mm equivalent is, and I always miss it on Mini 4 Pro, as great as that drone is, and dont forget 10 m/s ascend/descend. Thats faster than Inspire 3! Thanks again!

Great video man. I don't like the vertical mode on the Air 3 that crops your footage and cuts off both sides taking away your freedom to move it left and right in post wherever you would want. And also the goggles 3 are dissapointing with all the missing features. Maybe they can add some things in a firmware update

I expect more and more drones to be equipped with cruise control, as it's a popular feature. Can also see mini drones getting it too.

From a vehicle and drone perspective, cruise control is one of the best inventions of all time, IMO.

Thanks for the great review! I have a question about the battery charging hub. I'm a disabled vet with one hand. Is it possible to remove the batteries from the hub with just one hand? I'm able to do that with my Mini 3 Pro but this charging hub looks like it has a button to press in the hub. It might be impossible with just one hand. Also, can the props be installed with just one hand? Thanks in advance.
