It does help. I use the 5% at night because I don’t like how it makes my hair feel. I shower it off in the am. I also apply it to my eyebrows with a small eyebrow brush. That been a TOTAL game changer. I went from almost no eyebrows to big Brooke Shields ones. That’s been more dramatic than my hair.

Thanks! Love your channel. I learn so much. Been using Kirkland minoxidil for about 9 months and it’s working surprisingly well (I started with low expectations). Started 2x day, now one. Apparently I need to be more careful with application, tho. And, thanks especially for the tip re pets. I had no idea. 😟

In nature hair is used to insulate body heat in cold environments, animals found in high temperature places tend to be hairless or with little hair as no heat insulation is required, that's why the cool feeling of the peppermint oil on the scalp stimulate growth, In the US where heating and hot showers are common, hair loss in the population is greater them in any other place where heat and hot water are a rare commodity and people that lives in hot places like in the tropics or desert areas do not pour hot water on their scalps on a daily basis like most people in the US when showering. I believe that exposure to a cold environment will trigger hair growth overtime and that heated places and hot water on your scalp is the reason of the unnatural hair loss epidemic we're all experienced in the US, we are NOT supposed to lose our hair (unless medical reason are present) at mind age, Cold shower also stimulate blood flow, just think of it this way: if the body doesn't need it, it will get rid of it, again hair is used for insulation purposes to avoid the escape of heat where is most needed or to maintain an adequate temperature in our most vital organs (brain and genitals) the torso uses the armpit's hair to maintain heat, in conclusion our bodies are created to adapt to any environment and to make the necessary changes that are needed whether is to grow new parts or get rid of the ones that are no longer needed, that includes you hair

I use minoxidil for a long time and it helps a lot with hair loss. The only downside is that I get dandruff from it, so I use an anti-dandruff shampoo for that

Thank you so much for your informative video Dr Sugai. I am a healthy 62 year old female with mild androgenic alopecia. Started using the men’s Kirkland minoxidil solution once a day with good results. In your video you mentioned that women can use it twice a day. I wanted to use it twice a day for even better results but was concerned about possible side effects. Is it okay then for women to use twice a day? My other question is, do you have any tips on how to prevent minoxidil from fading the color of my color treated hair? Thank you.😊

Does wearing a wool hat in the winter and the friction resulting from this cause temple hair loss? I have no hair on my shins where I wear socks!

One thing you haven't mentioned are brands like Minoxidil Max, which now produce Minoxidil in strengths of 15%, combined with a topical finasteride solution.

If you have a pretty good head of hair...dont use the foam....its really hard to get the foam on the scalp because the application of foam gets tangled up in the hair strands first.

Am curious as to why you wouldn’t mention any of the ‘possible’ side effects, other than skin irritation which you did mention? How common are these effects?

- Severe scalp irritation
- Blurred vision
- Dizziness
- Fainting
- Fast/irregular heartbeat
- Headaches
- Numbness or tingling in face/hands/feet
- Swelling in face/hands/legs/feet
- Weight gain

Can you do a video for oral minoxidil please?

That's when taken through oral form, due to its systemic effects. Topically it remains local to site of application.

My dermatologist said women should not use 5% minoxidil as it could increase facial hair growth. I am getting good results with the 2% solution, but it did take about nine months to see results (I only use it once a day).

Is kirkland or rogaine better? I'm in the UK and costco doesn't sell kirkland. I'll probably get it from Amazon
