The woke sports media has had a hard time coming to grips with the fact that the best player in women’s college basketball history is a white girl from Iowa. First, it was women's basketball legend Sheryl Swoopes who went off the deep end with her attacks on Caitlin Clark. Now, the sport's all-time leading scorer has triggered a USA Today writer to pen a racist article dreaming of a black future for the game.

I knew almost immediately a white woman wrote this.... as a white man I recognized the "I'm overly spiritual, intelligent, important, and my empathy will save the world of its past sins." This is the thing of upper middle class and wealthy white women.

The writer should be fired. I'm black and a big Catlin fan

If she’s not fired already then somethings wrong in America.

Before Caitlyn Clark, I would guess 99% of "sports" fans would not be able to name one WNBA player.

I love the line "Watkins the nation's leading scorer this season behind Clark" When is a leader behind someone

It's ridiculous. If you're good you're good no matter your skin color.

I wasn't aware a sport was dependent upon the color of somebody's skin.

As a Black man, I watch women's basketball because of Caitlin Clark, she's the real deal, and the player to save and revive this awful product called women's basketball. USA Today is an awful newspaper paper on life support. WOKE NBA is an awful, social justice product, only Caitlin Clark can bring in the millions in money and fan based.

How are we ever going to end racism with articles like this ?? How ?? We are all one thing HUMAN. Enough with titles, enough with putting people into boxes . United we stand divided we fall . And we are falling at an epic speed ….

I miss the 90's, the decade I grew up in where people didn't make everything about race. The two most popular baseball players were Sammy Sosa and Ken Griffey Jr., a young Tiger Woods TOOK OVER golf, Michael Jordan was the GOAT 🐐 professional athlete and Family Matters and Kenan and Kel were the dopest TV shows. And nobody talked about color, just respected greatness for what it was.

So I guess if a national newapaper had a front page headline saying "Make football, baseball, hockey, tennis or lacrosse white again" That would be perfectlty acceptable in 2024, right ? 🙄

The NBA existed long before black players were even allowed to play let alone took over and what we are seeing the last 4 years with Jokic, black fragility is mirroring white fragility of the early/mid 70s when black players started dunking. Even using the SAME racism.

They said it was not athletic, that dunking the ball took no skill.
They say Jokic is not athletic, that his play style is not exciting.
