I have the 4770 and it plays most games you'd think of just pair it with a good gpu like a 1660 super or if your an a budget I recommend a rx 580 8GB

5900x owner, i built pc for my father e3 1246v3 (4770), surprise me, very snappy, good performance in most games, the only thing, if you do multitasking the cpu saturate fast, but very snappy on windows, and good for most of games this cpu came out 10 years ago, amazing

My friend also has a 4770, it's still a good enough CPU for older titles and everyday use, obviously it won't run the latest AAA games smoothly but we've been playing on The Finals a couple of time and he tells me he's getting about 60fps.

Two of my PCs are based around Haswell Xeons, E3-1265L v3 (with a GTX 1660 Super) and E3-1285L v3 (with RTX 2060 Super). They work well with 1080p monitors. I recently upgraded to a Ryzen 5 5600 as my main rig, with marginal uplift in performance. These are the CPU-Z reports:
R5-5600 - 610.7 / 4845.4
E3-1285L v3 - 364.8 / 1821.0
E3-1265L v3 - 352.6 / 1648.5

A Xeon with a 5 as the last number has graphics, for example. E3 1245v3 👍

I've been using this for almost 11 years and simply upgraded my graphics card over time when needed. It still runs everything at playable framerates. Some cpu intensive games might be as low as 30 fps, but in general cpu intensive games aren't usually fast paced and it hasn't been an issue. Hearts of iron 4 after 1945 is pretty unplayable, but that's true for most computers.
I did finally order an upgrade though. it's going to feel good to finally get rid of the cpu bottleneck.

Daily driving on a 3rd Gen myself and unable to quite afford the 6th Gen, I would consider the 4th gen to be the sweet spot of budget CPUs.

Good Video!
I have a XEON 1240v3, a H81M-A and a RX 580 and it run really nice, but i might upgrade soon to a ryzen 3600 or a 5500 just for better emulation.

Just bought a 4770 for €12.50 for a 1080p build for a friend on a real tight budget. He already has a RX 5600XT 6GB and 16GB ram. Can't wait to test this.

Nice video. I bought this to make a budget gamer with my old system. I had the top i5 in it but the 4 extra threads of the I7 should help with gaming performance. I have a gtx1070 in it. Might try to get it up to 4mhz but not sure yet.

The 1241 v3 is an $18 CPU, i paired it with a 1070 ti for my kiddo and he loves it!! We foind a nzxt Apollo case in orange at GOODWILL of all places, still in the box unscathed. I kinda wish i had jot bought a $15 dell motherboard because I had to do alot extra to get it to post without the "f1" errors.

Something to note for viewers that maybe dont know about nvidia driver cpu overhead.
The 4770 or 4790 paired with an AMD gpu will perform much better than with similar range nvidia one.
It aint gonna compete with Ryzen 3 3300X or i3 12100f, the more modern 4 c 8t cpus, but when paired with an RX6600 or 5600XT you arent gonna miss out on much performance, as you would with a 3050 8GB or a 2060 6GB.
And never overpay for the quad cores. If its not real cheap jsut get a R5 3600 and a b450 mobo and ddr4 ram thats diret cheap now.

This is the wrong video. You don't need to waste time with all this data. Anyone watching this stuff knows the chip is fine. The question is what it should cost. There are no bad parts, only had prices. I picked up a 4790(non-k) on an asus Z97, 16Gigs Ram and a GTX 980 for $110 shipped off ebay, of coarse that was a good option. If the entire build is $500... not soo great, this is entirely a question of price not performance

Got the 4790k on a Asrock 97z with 32gb of memory the day it came out now 10 years later i am still using it with a RTX3060 and it still does well. Make sure you cool these old chips enough to be able to boost non stop (no overclocking needed). I play the new ARK ASA on it without problems.

This CPU has been with me for over a decade.
I'm still gaming on an ancient i7 4770 + GTX 1070 and even though it still does pretty well with old games and recent low demanding games, it can't handle games like Squad, Ready Or Not, and Warzone on the lowest settings.
I've been postponing buying a new gaming PC for at least 4 years despite being very limited on the amount of games I could run on this build... But now that I want to get into PVE games this tech is just too old for new games. Plus GTA 6 it's comming out next year and sht...
IMO you should just save more money and buy a better CPU.
