One of the most sublime and honest works of the 20th century. Shattering, and therefore hard to commit to listen to yet another performance of it. But always worth it, and this is beautifully filmed. The darkened background of St Paul's works well, even though the acoustic is far from the cold dry acoustic of the original prisoner of war camp performance in East Poland, with some of the notes on the piano, and one string of the cello, missing. That must have been unforgettable, and overwhelmingly powerful.
