I actually enjoy this tank and most of the time do quite well, some of times it say behind or next to a heavy and after he shoots i'll shoot, or vice versa, good win rate and you're correct great credit earner.

I’m a mid 50% WR player with 6500 max damage but I have a 62% WR in this tank with 230 battles

A little gem, this one. Been wanting one. I wouldn't say 90 mm is a pew-pew gun at tier VII, both alpha and penetration values are above average for the tier. :)

In order to to complete the missions you also need to cause 265, 000 HP of damage.

Yeh, the T26E4 and Eagle don't get much love from the YouTubers, but I love playing both of them. You are correct in the playstyle: I never front line either tank unless I'm upper tier.
