In this vlog, we’ll answer that question as we spend Day 2 of our Aegean Jewels itinerary making our way from Marmaris, Turkey to the port of Piraeus, Greece. Hi! Just booked our first Marella cruise, very excited! So I will be watching all your videos! I'm wondering is the trivia and poolside entertainment every day or only on sea days? Not to sound boring but I enjoy a peaceful swim so I'm hoping it isn't relentless haha x

hey guys i have subscribed! i love Marella cruises ( it may sound a bit strange saying that as i aint actualy been on one technicaly) BUT i have been on them when they were Thomson and TUI! just NOT the new fleet ships! i cruised on the older ships like spirt, celebration, dream ( my last cruise in 2013 round the caribean) and destiny sadly all of which have gone to the great scrap yard in the sky since covid ( destiny went last week as she was MS Celestyal Olympia ) so she was the last one to go to the scrappers sadly that i have sailed on im 55 now and started cruising at 35 with thomson and the ONLY line i have done so with! im so glad i got to sail on those older ships and they will be missed but times move on and Marella needed to modernise thier fleet ( also helps that RCL has a stake in the parent company) so they have got all the ex rcl and celbrity cruise ships now with the balconies ..something thier older fleet didnt have unless you booked a suit and only about 6 cabins with balconies! i do have to say nothing has changed much with the offering ( quizes ect on pool deck for instance) and glad Marella decided to go All Inclusive across the fleet! I am hoping to do one with marella at some point ( my other half allways said he would do one for his 70th and thats this year lol) ONE LAST HURAR if it happens!

I still stand by what i allways said thomson or marella as its called now has ALLWAYS been great value for money (even though in cruise forums it gets called "butlins on sea!" but i think thats part of it's charm tbh if you want to pay threough the nose and have to pay extra for tips, resturants ect then by all means go on carnival, cunard or RCL, but with marella you know just what your getting!

but as its been a while since i have cruised with them do they still do the baked alaska parade, midnight buffet ( with the ice scupltures and carved food ) as those are a dying thing on most cruise lines these days! and i am glad to see they still do afternoon tea and the formal night /captians gala night (now labled dress to impress ) i allways took my dinner suit for that so yes i looked like a pengine lol but a normal suit did as well on my 1st ever cruise but it was allways nice to dress up for the occasion and if not then you ccould allways go to the buffet! ! still its not a propper cruise without those 4 things lol but times chnge so im glad to see at least 2 have survied ( the others may have but not watched all the vids yet!) also do they stil do the staff cruise show? as in talented waiting on staff, chefs and normal deck crew that are aboard? that was on of my fave shows as the NOrmal crew (not the entertyainment team) got a chance to shine !
