Hot Wheels Aston Martin One-77 (070) TBM invitational

Показать описание
On the bench today is a 1:64 scale Hot Wheels Aston Martin One-77. It’s a proper supercar, and is aptly named as only 77 of these were produced in real life. Cue the Bond theme music.
In this video I’m participating in a Three Blind Mice invitational build-off. All participants are working on the same model. This one is new, right out of the blister pack, so it doesn’t have a thing wrong with it. However, I’m going to turn mine into the Gran Turismo model that appears in the PS4 video games Gran Turismo 6 and Gran Turismo Sport. There, I just told you everything I know about gaming. Never done it. But I do like the look of the particular livery they use, with silver metallic and modest decals and ghost striping.
In the Autumn of 2008, a camouflaged mockup of a car was displayed at the Aston Martin booth in the Paris Motor Show. This announced the development of what was to be a 77-car run on its new, ultra-exclusive, limited edition flagship. The fully rendered design of this model, appropriately dubbed the One-77, was shown at the Spring 2009 Geneva Motor Show, and a production version followed soon after.
While it retains the handsome image of models such as the DB9 and DBS, its styling has been greatly modified both in shape and aerodynamics. At first glance, it may appear to be just a heavily modified production car; but in reality, the One-77 is a special model that had been newly developed, completely, from the ground up. The chassis was developed together with Cosworth, based on the conventional 6-liter V12, and its 7,312 cc of displacement creates the most power – a whopping 749 BHP – of any normally aspirated engine to date. Aston's and Cosworth's collaboration also resulted in reducing engine size by 25 percent, thereby allowing it to be mounted 3 inches lower than most other V12 engines and nearly 10 inches behind the front axle. This greatly contributed to the agility of its handling and cornering performance.
The price tag was announced at £1.2 million in the UK ($1.9 million in the US), but all 77 cars sold out in just the one year since the start of its delivery in the beginning of 2011.
Enjoy this Aston Martin One-77 makeover. If you like the video, please give it a thumbs up, subscribe to my channel and hit the notification bell for regularly updated content. It’s free! Your respectful comments are always welcome and I promise to reply to each and every one of them. Be sure to tell me where you’re watching from. I’m a world traveller, so I’m interested to know. Stay safe. Stay healthy.

Want to donate some old, beat-up diecast cars by post for future makeovers? I’m open to models of all brands and makes (Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Corgi, Siku, Majorette et al). Surprise me!

FYI: I don't collect, display or sell the cars, and they’re certainly not competition entries. All Maple Leaf Matchbox Makeovers finished projects are put in gift bags and go to my local Goodwill store where they are given to children for free.
Note: Due to the use of paint stripping chemicals and power tools, this channel is not intended for viewing by children. Age 14+ is recommended.
