I Purchased A Lemon Citrine From India On eBay - Is It A Real Gemstone Or Glass?

I ordered a piece of rough to facet and when I got it I tested it and it was pure glass pure red glass it was supposed to be corundum the same material that Ruby's and sapphires are made of but lab created they couldn't even give me that they actually sent me a piece of red glass how do I know?, I tested it, I tested it specific gravity.

If it’s from India it’s more likely to be real. It’s treated and I see color zoning. It MIGHT be a doublet or triplet but I don’t think the price is really off the mark either. The exchange rate in India lately gives Americans a bit of an edge.

Most often, the citrine available on the market comes from heat treatment of amethyst or aluminum-bearing smoky quartz.

Mine was packaged ecacy the same. I had rainbow moonstone and Druzy Cab. They’re both real but the moonstone on the website looks huge compared the nickel size piece I got. Mine were from India as well

Regarding that stone. It's not a legit citrine. Yet, it looks mo like a heated and well lapidated crystal. Therefore, the cheap price for it.
A real citrine above 10ct, market price; starts at $35 usd per_ct. Meaning that if it was a real citrine, that gemstone would've costed you, at least $1500.
Still, it was a good find online. Since, it doesn't seem to be a glassed gemstone, plus it was well processed; just like the Indians are good at.

It is ok to be happy with that you bought but what you have is not citrine, natural or heat treated amethyst. I am not a certified gemologist or professional crystal dealer but I do collect some crystals including citrines of various sizes including a large Brazilian collector grade citrine. Your piece has the wrong color and “look”. With due respect to trade dealers there, there are numerous fake crystals from China and India - nothing wrong to buy something you like but understand what you’re buying as genuine disclosure is unfortunately hardly present.
