Davey Calls for Starmer to Trump-Proof Britain

There is now going to be a lot of debate around how the UK should deal with the threat Trump poses to our economy and European security at least. Ed Davey has suggested Labour should work more closely with the EU on defence and trade. Interestingly enough, Labour are reported to have already come to this conclusion ahead of the election results. But will Labour be able to persuade the EU to do so?

Davey is not wrong. Even if Trump does not prove as psychotic as expected, it would be at least prudent to prepare for the worst and strengthen our relationship with the EU and the rest of Europe.
