For most people, when remembering The Hart Foundation, Bret Hart is the first name that instantly springs to mind. While The Hitman found worldwide fame after his tenure in the Hart Foundation, his tag partner Jim Neidhart would fall in and out with the WWE. His personal issues kept getting in the way of keeping consistent employment with Vince McMahon, and he was rehired again and again as favors to Stu Hart.

It wouldn't be honest to say that Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart's wrestling career was absolutely stellar and groundbreaking, but it sure was interesting. When paired up with Bret Hart, Jim complimented The Hitman well, being the big bruiser Bret was the agile technician. This mini documentary from Wrestling Lists takes a look at life and career of Jim The Anvil Neidhart.

This video looks at Jim's early life, his travels to Calgary and his time in Stampede Wrestling, his debut with the WWF, his numerous returns to the WWF including The New Foundation and the 1997 heel Hart Foundation, his time in WCW, and the events leading up to his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Man you gotta feel for Natalia. You know her childhood was a rollercoaster of intense emotions. She absolutely adored her dad, calling him daddy like she was still a kid, and did everything she could to help get him clean. Her efforts are largely to thank for his name being removed from the blacklist and getting to be inducted into the HoF

One half of one of the greatest tag teams of forever. His strongman / enforcer role alongside Bret's technique and finesse was a believable and amazing pairing.

Losing Anvil hurt

Especially after seeing a picture of him, Owen, Bret, Davey, and Pillman with all but Bret being grayed out

This one made me tear up. I loved this guy even before I knew he was a fellow Canadian. When I think about the fact that my entire beloved Hart Foundation, save for Bret, has passed away young I just tremble inside. From the 80's to the 90's US vs Canada angle, they were the greatest. May they all rest in peace and may Bret live to be 120.

I'm glad I got to meet Jim the Anvil and Bret the Hitman in Florin Mall in Sacramento back in the late 80's I remember seeing two big giants walking in gray sweat suits and I was on the other end of the mall and I was like WOW! I had to go meet these guys not knowing it was them. They were sitting inside a Chinese restaurant while I was holding my Think Positive book and I walked towards them and I said I know who you guys are your the Hitman hart and your Jim the Anvil Hart and they said hi while receiving a six pack and I asked if they would sign there name on my book and Bret looked at the title of my book and asked, am I a positive thinker? and I told him yes and both signed and they both told me good luck.i was happy then.I had to be around 20yrs old.Great guys.

Honestly surprising there wasn't a run with Greg Valentine and Jim Neidhart.

This is so sad for me. I met him at our gym and he was SUPER nice to me, a local deputy sheriff. I morn his eventual fate. He was a good guy. Blessings to his family.

I met The Anvil during Wrestlemania Axxess back in 2015 for the first time. The Hart Foundation was one of my favorite tag teams of the 80's. I got a picture with him and Jimmy Hart that day and earlier that day I got a picture with Bret Hart at the airport. What a dream come true meeting these legends in the same day. I will never forget that day. Awesome weekend it turned out to be 💯👍

Awesome video! It broke my heart when he died. I was shocked and saddened. Just last Summer we lost so many wrestlers back to back. That's why I tell fans now...if you are a true wrestling fan, then you need to be respectful to these wrestlers who have worked hard and paved the way. So many wrestlers are dying before their time. They have given their all to us. We need to be thankful. Stop making jokes about their mental health, weight gain etc...just as long as they are alive and healthy. Because it could be worst. #RIPJimNeidhart...thank you for the memories!

Jim Neidhart was one of the strongest athletes to come out of southern California at the time.
A school sercurity guard who went to school with him, told me stories of Anvils feats of strength on the field. He was unmatched.

When Neidhart popped out and knocked Stone Cold Steve Austin off the entrance ramp in 1997, I flipped out. I was so happy he was back and in his rightful place in the Hart Foundation.

I've noticed that when Natalya smiles, there's the father-daughter resemblance between her and Jim--I'm saying this as complimetary because she is a beautiful woman. Nonetheless, this was a great and informative video of the late great Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. His wrestling abilities aren't to be overlooked and of course, his character definitely couldn't be ignored--the latter of which I believe has reached iconic status. What's sad is that he didn't live to see the Hart Foundation's HOF induction. Rest in peace, Jim; you're fondly remembered.

Thanks for doing this one. Jim Neidhart was a good mid-card talent, and his work was appreciated.

His daughter is a great ambassador of the Harts and pro wrestling. I'm sure he was very proud of her. The Anvil rules!
