In this video I will show you how to install a tune on your own car. We are installing Integrated Engineering Stage 1 ECM and DSG software. You can tune your car yourself with the POWERlink. The Golf R tune will add a solid amount of HP and TQ, it also changes throttle response and shifting points. The ECM tune totally changes the way the car behaves. Thanks to IE for supplying the tune for this video.

“This is how the car should have come from the factory!” I hear this from so many people that do stage1. Awesome!

INSANE how much power this thing develops! I know VW is notorious for de-tuning their powerplants, but this is almost criminal! That torque curve is outrageous! That tune is worth every penny! Can't wait for the Stage 2!

I bought an Integrated Engineering stage 1 tune with the same flash loader for my 3.0T C7 A6 and it's been about a year.... 100% love it... zero complaints, the car is stronger and far more engaging to drive. Power delivery is BUTTERY SMOOTH... huge thumbs up to Integrated Engineering for their software!

I ran my MK7 with the Soundaktor off for 4 years. Finally turned it back on to sell it to a 22 year old kid who giggled uncontrollably when we went out for a test drive. I think it's just designed to get you to buy the car, haha, which he promptly did.

“This is how the car should have come from the factory” — how I felt after putting a VF48 in my Forester XT and got it tuned. Love that feeling! Cheers!

I went with Unitronic stage 2 for my mk7 gti and the dsg tune was such a game changer. The extra smoothness of the shift points makes all the difference.

We recently put the same tune on our R and it’s amazing! It’s so much fun to do the launch control

I'm a new subscriber and I am so glad that I found your channel as I grew up riding in those iconic Beetles driven by my mom. The distinctive sound of that air cooled motor is permanently etched in my mind-my cat would run to the front door to greet my mom upon whenever she heard the VW parking outside. We had to cover the distributor with plastic whenever it rained as it would not start when wet. Your channel shows how VW had evolved through the years from it's humble beginnings. Thank you for producing such entertaining content!

Just got a Stage I low torque tune for my 6speed '17 R -- boy what an improvement! No doubt this is how it should have come from the factory.

This video inspired me to research and call around about the IE stage 1 high torque tune for my '19 Golf R, and I had it done recently. It is awesome; thanks HumbleMechanic! On winding country roads, open highways and commuting too it is like you say, so smooth, and with power just waiting to be tapped. I hope it's OK for me to thank Matt at Triangle Imports for the great tune and sharing tons of information.

The reaction of giggling everytime you accelerate is exactly why I went with a stage 1 tune as well! That giggle and smile didn't stop for a while...

Now that it has, I'm looking at stage 2

I had a 15 R with Stage 2 which comes with 1.5 Unitronic. My wife hated the crackles and the cops here in Nor Cal did not like it. I LOVED IT!
Had it lowered on BC, strut tower braces, diesel geek shift kit, southbend stage 2 clutch APR downpipe, Awe Switchpath

Not bad gains percentage-wise from a tune only. +16.7% peak hp and +27.5% peak torque at the tires is a solid improvement over the factory calibration.

What if you have to take it to a dealership and get something fixed?
Oh I forgot, you are Master VW Technician.

I guess that if u flash the car back to stock, the dealership would never know that it was tuned as long as no traces are left in the ECU? Pretty impressive for a stage 1 tune. I owned a mk4 r32 for 14 years and sold it last year. Miss the growl and the look. Tuned it conservatively with a flash and air intake. Everyone loved the car but it was either turn the car in to a project car or get something that would easily switch from work vehicle to a weekend track car. Last year i got the Golf R and its been a heck of a lot of fun. A little more growl and boost in torque and hp is defenitely needed. Keep up the good work. You have given me some food for thoughts for my next track day.
