I like the “trains are loud” arguement. Yea sure it’s loud for like the 3 minutes you hear it. I’d rather have 3 minutes here and there than a constant drone of a highway

"One more lane" with train tracks: 🙂
"One more lane" with roads: 🌚

2 lanes: people watch how they drive
3 lanes: about 60% of people still pay attention
4+ lanes: everyone is on their phone and doesn't even notice they are getting passed left and right at the same time

Imagine tear down highway lanes to build train tracks in its place. It would be straight up NSFW.

Love seeing the Houston representation in the first shot

Just turn every street into a highway, easy traffic solution. Actually, why stop there? Turn all rails into highways, too. Then tear down buildings, chop down forests, do not stop until the entire continental US is just one gigantic highway.

If that doesn't fix traffic, just build another one underground.

In college back in the day, my big project for one semester involved mapping the campus to determine land use. In short, the footprint of roads and parking lots was 90% of the area that the footprint of the actual buildings were. Despite this, the biggest complaint I heard students have every year was that there was a lack of parking.

The closest train station was two miles away, in an area that often lacked sidewalks, even on busy roads. There was one bus route, which brought you a couple of blocks
from campus, and passed by somewhere from every 30 to 90 minutes.

This was one of the Top 1% of the most densely populated counties in the USA.

This is a problem.

The Houston highway in that first shot looks like something a Cities Skylines beginner would build in the game.

And then you have the master genius
"we are gonna add more lanes... but underground!!"

I learned this from Sim City:
Roads instead of streets.
Subways, Trains.
Metro Buses.
Increase taxes by 2%
