More than 24 hours have passed since voting officially closed, but who the next President of the United States will be is still undecided. The math is beginning to favour Democratic challenger Joe Biden. According to projections, Mr Biden has won the key states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona, which puts him at 264 electoral votes, six shy of the 270 needed to win the presidency. Meanwhile, Mr Trump's path centred on him winning Pennsylvania with other scenarios that involve holding Georgia, erasing Biden's lead in Arizona and flipping Nevada. Former US bureau chief Jeremy Au Yong and US bureau chief Nirmal Ghosh weigh in on the different scenarios that will chart the path to the White House for the two candidates.

It does not matter who hits 270 first, its who ends up with more electoral votes.

Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Slow and steady wins the race. I hear so many Democrats getting too cocky just like old times back in 2016...
