Yup, I have a 2017 F150 that I like to run it through a car wash about twice a week. I bought one of those from Amazon, I think it's called a "Stubby". I did one more thing that you didn't do. I put a nice coating of oil for those idiots who wants to steel my stubby. Their hand just slips around it. My wife had one and it got stolen. I bought another one, applied oil, it's now been 2 years, she still has it! :-)

Installed one on my 2013 F150 a couple years ago. FM reception is absolutely terrible, and AM reception is non-existent, and I live in suburbs of very large city. Finally getting around to ordering something longer (15”) or going back to OEM antenna.

I tried removing the antenna but the stud is stuck inside the antenna part. How do you thread it out?

A like the tall whip antenna- contacts something low before the truck's roof does.

I bought mine and installed it on a 2015 Dodge 1500. The reception dramatically worsened from the stock which had outstanding reception.

Installed a stubby, and regret it. Reception sucks, the adapter corroded and cannot be removed to reinstall the factory antenna. I want to like the stubby, but it was a waste of money...

Heyyyy Radio personality lol. People say I have the movie theater deep voice. lol!!! Btw just bought the "the original" 6 3/4 inch mast antenna. None of that chinese knock off.
