I met Dave this past August when he was running in a six-day race in Milwaukee. He shared his story. I was fascinated by his commitment to finding funds for rare diseases. He's a great runner, but he's an even greater day who has unlimited love for his son. Go, Dave. I loved the talk.

Awesome! One thing that always amazes me are the amount of parents who say "I would do anything for my kids. Climb the highest but they won't commit to eating health and daily exercise (maintaining ha healthy weight, etc.) I run ultra marathons (nothing like Dave) and when people as me why I go out and suffer through these events (not to mention the almost daily training) I always say - "For the love of my kids". If I can't be there for their graduation, wedding, etc. I want them to know it wasn't from a lack of trying:)

i was actually friends with his son. kids were picking on him once. i hurled snowballs at them, and thats how our friendship started. its so good to see my best buddy and his family progress.
