I’m born in Bengaluru, mother tongue is Marathi and married to Telugu speaking person but I can speak Kannada fluently. This is called roots and and a Bengaluru person

I was transferred to assam in Its been 4 years and will get transferred next year most probably again but i dont know how to speak But they dont have problem with I speak Hindi and English and they speak broken Assamese and Hindi and English to accommodate me They are the sweetest people i have met till now

His family lived here for generations and he can't even speak kannada... if people from South live in Bihar or Maharashtra for generations they learn local language, Do people who live in North talk in Kannada or Tamil to comfort south indians?but we are expected to speak hindi in our state because everyone starts telling that language shouldn't be forced.... If someone lives in UP or Bihar for generations and still don't know how to converse with local people isn't that stupid ?...If you expect me to learn and understand hindi...why is it wrong to expect to learn kannada in our own state? These guys act like they are so entitled just because they know Hindi... Learning Hindi was never a choice for us to make but for Hindi speakers it is their own choice, they say it is india and we should not force them to learn our language ? Hypocrisy dude!

This is a huge problem in karnataka. I am a delhite. Went to mangalore as a tourist in 2023 December.
We were looking for an auto. The auto driver asked triple the usual cost. And when we refused him. He didnt let any auto driver to take us. Stood in between the road. Spoke something in kannada. And even the drivers willing to take us via meter, at first, refused to take us as the former driver didnt let them. And threatened us.
We eventually had to walk around 2-3km to get a bus. No auto was coming that way. Probably the auto driver didn’t let any other auto come that way.

My mother tongue is Tamil, I born in Bangalore I know fluent kannada and also to read and writekannada ❤❤❤ I feel ashamed, in bus stand I was helping a localite from village struggling because he don't no hindi in Bangalore. Requesting at least learn local language in a basic level.

Our golgappa bhaiyas from UP BIHAR HARIYANA who stayed here for 1 year speaks in Kannada with us better than this guy did in his entire lifetime 😂😂😂😂

Edit- no offence to any state people!! Business is business nothing is inferior, I mentioned North Indian states cz that’s what golgappa bhiayas say they are from !! We welcome everyone with open heart respect should be their for our language and culture..We karnataka people appreciate the efforts made by them ( any non local people) to learn basic communication that’s it nothing more …
