I aches my heart that both Benjamin and Ric are gone. Such great talents.

I balled my eyes out when I saw this. Do you think that Ben knew how much he would still be loved and obsessed about all these years after he has passed. Still love you Ben!!

The genius of Ric Ocasek: Writes a great song and says, “Benjamin needs to sing it.”
Months later, ends up becoming a monster hit, and THE BALLAD of the 1980’s!
Rest In Power Rick & Ben. 🙏

I am sad that Ben and Ric are gone, and I am happy that they were here when I was here.

I honestly think this is Ocasek’s best song as a writer. Works equally as acoustic. Incredibly special song. RIP Benjamin and Ric and thank you.

Can’t imagine how heavy Rick’s heart is when signing this song.

Ric wrote this song and first sang it. The original version was recorded in his home studio on a Tascam 8tk 1/2". I know this to be true because I am the person who transferred the original tape to Roy Thomas Baker's  40tk 2" at SyncroSound for the rest of the band to learn. Honest

I have always known Ric wrote this song but letting Benjamin sing it was the right choice. It was perfect for him. I did not expect much from Ric singing this song. Boy was I wrong. He brought real soul. Really made us feel the longing. Bravo.

Ben Orr normally sang this song but after his death Ric Ocasek started singing it more often making me feel that it was a tribute to Ben

A obra prima de Ric Ocasek que foi interpretada magistralmente por Benjamin Orr. Dois gênios da música pop que lamentavelmente já partiram.

I think Ric’s voice captures a certain fragility and sadness that suits this in a different manor but equally as well as Ben’s but bless both of them and the Cars

May his soul rest in peace. The most iconic duo Ben and Ric have inspired me in ways unimaginable and made me play the guitar again after almost of year of not touching it. So Ric, Ben, the Cars... thank you for inspiring me and so many others. I'm gonna miss ya :')
