Observations Of An American Living In Germany (38)

An election is approaching on October 8th. The campaign signs are everywhere in Wiesbaden. I don't know if this is just for our local city, the state of Hesse - or if it is a national election across Germany. Anyway, my wife and I are US citizens and vote in our home state via absentee ballot -- so we don't have a dog in this fight.

We're just guests or "auslanders" here in Deutschland - legal resident aliens, I suppose.

I just hope that the campaign signs don't end up being litter for several months after the elections are over, as they so often do back in the USA.

DW is the international media of Germany. It is financed by our taxes and part of ARD, our first national television channel. And yes, they are really professional and they don't translate stuff I think, they just write the articles in English directly and probably have people reading over it to check for mistakes before it gets published.
