I've been wanting to find a PayPal alternative for these reasons. they also have been banning accounts for political reasons too. There's also other shady things they've been doing.

I no longer recommend Hello Bonsai as a replacement as they've recently increased their prices and I think it prices out many freelancers. I'm still looking at alternatives.

Thanks for convincing me not to use PayPal anymore. 👍🏼 I literally had someone donate $3 dollars to me using PayPal, & PayPal had the nerve to hold my money for an unreasonable amount of time before the money was finally transferred into my bank account. Shit was ridiculous & felt sketchy asf.

I have used PayPal for multiple businesses over a decade now, and in the last couple of years I start to see PayPal doing pretty shaddy things...I'm in the process of finding a better replacement to leave PayPal for good. By the way, Venmo is also own by PayPal, which I hope this kind of bad business ethic does not spreading over there, too. (fingers crossed)

Same happened to me as today
Without any warning they have ban my account. There are no disputes nothing at all still they blocked me...


Talked to their customer care to atleast give me a valid reason for blockng my account

they have no idea....Strange and pathetic service

Thank you for sharing your experience. And as you mentioned, ALWAYS have your money sent directly to your BA! I am new to the freelancer/business ownership world providing vlog editing services, and have been doing research on how to receive pmts where I won’t run into any tax issues in the future as I won’t be able to register my business right off the bat.

Sadly sometimes this is the only means of receiving money for me, being in a small European country. Paypal has these crazy "security measures". They would disable me from paying sometimes and say it's for security so I had to change my password and wait 2 days. Then they messed with my currencies and also they freeze accs for "fishy" transactions. My friend got a big donation on a gaming stream and they were like "THIS IS SUS" and terminated it.

Quitting Paypal is easy, the trouble is most websites only use Paypal (other than using your credit card information, which isn't particularly secure).
If websites would allow other platforms I'd more than gladly switch.
It it was for me, I'd pay everything with Apple Pay.

Paypal banned / paused my account - gave no warning or reason . I emailed them and called them and never got a answer . Do you have any alternatives I can use . All I used PayPal for was to send money 😭

Paypal has been ripping me off with a 10% commission mased in the form of currency conversion fee + GST + fixed commission etc. They're just too arrogant and won't listen to the customer at all. NEVER USE THEM AGAIN

I just use PayPal for only international transactions, I do not store any money in PayPal balance. Just PayPal as payment processor and currency exchanger.

The issue is MOST websites accept PayPal.
Otherwise why the heck would I go near PayPal.

They ask for a phone number on the app. Then say it's in the wrong format. I call, they said wait 24 hours, and I do this routine all over again. I just started making a little money again, and now I can't log in on apps or browser. I can only call, the money is there.
