Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets of central Seoul for a 16th Saturday to call for the immediate removal of President Park Geun-hye.
It's the first peaceful protest since Samsung heir apparent Lee Jae-yong was arrested for his involvement in the sprawling power abuse scandal.
The protesters are calling for a time extension for the independent counsel team's probe and for a face-to-face questioning of President Park.
A verdict in the Constitutional Court's impeachment trial of President Park is expected early next month.
Supporters of the president also gathered in front of Seoul City Hall on Saturday afternoon.
They say she should not be impeached,... claiming the scandal is part of a plot by pro-North Korea forces and whipped up by misleading news stories.
