After years of almost buying Beemers the day finally came. I’ve decided to buy this 1983 320i so I can learn more mechanical skills, fix it up, and give it to my cousin as a gift because it’s his dream car.

4:30 Bmw m10 in the states originally came with kjet injection. It looks like its currently set up with duel side draft Webers. Don't swap it back to kjet, its expensive to find all the parts (1000+) and its a finicky system that most people don't know how to mess with. I have had to learn its intricacies over the last 7 months you will be sorry to futz with it. Its all in all a good system if done right but the knowledge and cost to get back into it outweighs the efficiency gains especially when you consider the throttle response you get from carbs.

I test drove one of these and a 924 Porsche in 1982. Both were $15, 000 to $16, 000, New Z28's were $14, 000.
I went with the 1982 Scirocco for $11, 000
Supra($16, 000) and RX7($14, 000) were being sold over MSRP due to demand and a 3 week wait.

BMW's are best between 1983-2003. Manual transmission offcurse... Preferably 6 cylinders

I've never owned an M10 car, let alone an E21, but that motor is original. They also sell Group 5 body kits, which could be a nice route. 🤷‍♂ Personally, I would swap the motor, add an Alpina front valance, and throw some wheels on it and of course after some maintenance

Tell your cousin if he ever sells it I would buy it from him I had a really good friend of mine that had one like it his was a black e21 320is anyway I always wanted to track down the car when he passed away but never could. And that e21 is the same color and everything. His was a 83
