This was literally my first DIY pvc project and is proof of how easy it is to build one yourself. Just wanted to inspire others to build your own! Do it! Part links below!

Update (02/04/2025):
So far, it has held up for over a year now with no problems. Really sturdy and holds steady while traveling with my trolling motor! I spray painted the pvc black and it sorta looks legit now lol.

Prices of parts may change. All PVC parts bought at Lowes. Minn Kota's bracket keeps going out of stock lately but I listed an alternative bracket above.

*1 year update*:
Still holding really strong and sturdy. It’s even more practical than the video shows. Painted it black to make it look legitimate. Best DIY I’ve ever done lol

Thumbs up on a nice design.
Several years back I built some brackets for attaching trolling motors to Kayaks. One of the things I did was to machine some circular recesses in the starboard transom mounting plate to allow the trolling motor round circular clamps to recess slightly into the starboard to lock the trolling motor in place to keep it from falling off of the kayak. Couldn't tell from the video what your mount looked like but you are welcome to use any part of my design to help you along the way. I have quite a few videos on my youtube channel that show how all of that stuff works. I don't know if I have a photo of the transom plate show in any of the videos but would be glad to send you a picture if it would be helpful.🙂

I think a zero degree mount could be more beneficial. Easier to aim
