Robbie liked his mums speech. You can tell by his smile right at the end.

Just like those Crips and just like those Bloods, you're culpable. 'Cause you joined the gang, man.

Fucking love that bit.

One of the best monologues in any film to date! Superbly written and excellently delivered. Sent chills down my spine!

She really took ‘grieving mother’ to a whole new level

You know it really pisses me off when people like this priest say "I understand what you're going through." No you sure as hell don't understand unless you've gone through it. Sympathy and empathy are two different things.

She nails it @ 2:48!
"I don't care if you never did shit,
I don't care if you never saw shit,
I don't care if you never heard shit, "
Beautiful!

Father Montgomery has no right to come into Mildred's house about her billboard or anything! I'm overjoy that Mildred put Father in his place! Who does he think he is, seriously?!

This Oscar was well damned deserved! McDormand is a monster of acting and one of the best actresses ever

This is the scene that landed her the Oscar win. Hands down.

Frances McDormand is one of the most powerful actors. Her portrayal of Mildred Hayes in billboards and Marge Gunderson in Fargo are two of the most powerful performances in all cinematic history. And her husband is Joel Coen.

She said everything I feel about the Vatican, priests and all. Which is why I quit being a catholic.

Great writing by Martin McDonagh ... great acting by Frances McDormand for whom the part was written for.

Probably the most beautifully delivered speeches in movie history. Infusing humour into subject matter like this is masterful.

She talked circles around that priest who hides behind his religion and lacks empathy. Her character was amazing. Composed yet livid. Such amazing acting.

In light of the ever-expanding child sexual abuse scandal in the US, every Roman Catholic parishioner needs to repeat this exact monologue to their parish priests. diocesan officials and bishops.

If a priest started lecturing me how to live my life, I too would tell him to get stuffed.

@ Andreas - The son actually is initially against the billboards. You knew that from the start of the movie. He comes around to his mother's point of view but initially he says they are too obscene and stop him from healing from the grief. The son just loves the priest getting a good dose of Harper Valley PTA at the end though. XD
