Hats off to the prosecutor for keeping a level voice and seriously asking this questions, and to the US legal and court system for actually allowing this trial and testimony to go forward and not lock all of these people in the loony bin. Can't make this stuff up. Hollywood and SONY and all other video game creators have not even gone this far off the deep end.

The underlying issue with these people is religious indoctrination. A system that forces people to embrace absurd beliefs causes damage to their processes of rational thought. These impaired people are more likely to act illogically and destructively. With encouragement they may act barbarously. When I ponder how this man had so much influence over Lori, a thought from Voltaire helps...

At least they seem to understand that they were played, now. Thankfully. If they didn’t they would still be dangerous. As it is I think they present danger mostly to themselves. This kind of gullibility is almost beyond comprehension. Never do things for people that you would never normally do. Hold to your OWN convictions. I would feel sorry for Lori IF she had not demonstrated that this is who she is, every day of her life; I think she is a very dangerous person, & sadly, will always be.
