Thanks, Russ!!! These are ideas that have been in my head and heart for a while, but they were only half baked, with out confidence. You stated these ideas so well, and conveyed feeling too. Too often people leave out the emotion in technical endevors.

Well said, all around.
I’m a full time freelancer, and I’m rediscovering biking late in life. I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t need to document my rides. I want to just absorb them...for now.
That being said, I binge watch your videos and follow you on IG.
So, I’m glad you’re producing content I can enjoy

brilliant video man, you explained everything really well, and backed it up with great shots that weren't over-edited.

Thanks! I recently "downgraded" my camera to a Nikon with superzoom. Not always the quality I prefer, but surprisingly better than expected when uploaded to computer. (The viewfinder very small). I did this specifically for bike touring, so I wouldn't have to carry so much kit, and for the quick accessibility you commented on. Your tips are well-presented and appreciated. Your photos are awesome. Thanks for a needed boost of inspiration.

Thankyou, great video and tips.
As always, succinct, articulate and without cliches. Its a common error to focus (no pun intended) disproportionately on kit, in all realms of life instead of really engaging with the the world and the activity.

Just looking for a channel that could give some tips on photography from my bike, and here’s where I landed. Excellent content and very appreciated, just got you another sub.. thanks 🙏🏽

This is a fantastic video, that really addresses how to take good photos rather than talking about the gear required to take photos, which is secondary. Having said recommendations do you have for a solo bikepacker/tourer? I often find that by not having me or A cyclist on the shot there's something missing. However that would require carrying a tripod which is a big commitment.

Thanks, great concepts. I'll send along to our budding photographer grand daughter. Oh, and I'll try to remember them as well.

Russ this was super inspiring. I'm sort of stepping into the photographer roll for Bike Lodi. I've shot one ride so far and it was one of the best experiences. I'm no pro photographer by any means, but I'm enjoying the process. Appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise.

I like to watch Kin Grant and Rachel Leach. These are two very different photographer. I love Kim enthusiasm, but a lot of time she goes out with a preconceived picture she wants to take. Rachel on the other hand has her share of enthusiasm but she alway finds something interesting to shoot. There are almost always great pictures just waiting to be shot. It's the photographers job to capture them and tell their story.

Great photos. I myself want to go for bicycle tour though I am 68 year old and with a Canon 600D, could it be good to take pictures as well as video clips? I too have a very old Raliegh 3speed gear bicycle unused due to broken gear change wire unavailable.

Hey buddy I was wondering what you calibrate your monitor with, my xrite i1 is over 10 years old and the contrast calibration part seems to take forever. That's basically the only thing annoying me. Just looking for a faster solution.

I'm looking to purchase a camera and could use some information about the camera you have chosen. Any info and advice is appreciated.
