Senator Chris Murphy Lays Out Facts of Trumpcare

In response to last week’s presentation by Speaker Paul D. Ryan, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, uses a PowerPoint presentation to lay out the facts of Trumpcare.

Days after the Republican health care bill was unveiled, and after Republican opposition mounted from both conservatives and moderates, Ryan delivered a presentation defending the bill that strayed from the facts. Earlier this week, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) announced the plan would cause 24 million Americans to lose health insurance to finance tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy. Ryan said the CBO’s report “exceeded [his] expectations.”
