He's 100% the type of guy that tries to fill up his Tesla with gas.

The NFC reader is not in the same place on Pixels as it is on iPhones. That's why it didn't work: you tapped the wrong spot.

Troubleshoot Guide

1. Did you have Google Wallet/Pay setup?
2. Is NFC turned on?
3. Try placing the NFC reader and module in the middle of the device where the module would most likely be located
4. Is the case on your phone thicker than the NFC module can transmit
5. If all else fails, scan the included QR code sticker to pay

I don't believe that you can convey your message well enough in such a short amount of time + little interest in the first example, it shows that you're being bias.

By the time Apple introduces a feature, Android users already would have used it for 6-7 years..Android listens!

Because you actually need to open your camera and scan the QR code and it will take you to the screen where you can pay

And this is one of the reasons why I switched to an iPhone.. Google is so unreliable and inconsistent.

Android NFC is middle of the phone, to avoid mistake contacts.

When he switched to using his Pixel to film the video for iPhone, both image and audio quality have noticeable improvement.

The thing is that majority of Android phones have NFC in the middle of the back area so you were scanning/tapping at the wrong area. As an Android user it's annoying because it was like that since start and one would think that after seeing apple doing at the top is most logical and manufacturers would start putting NFC at top.
My Galaxy S21 Ultra seems like it's really NFC sensitive so I can just pay with upper part of the phone...maybe they are improving it but very slowly lol.

Gas pumps don't have two NFC chips. The same exact NFC chip technology is used by both phones. There's only one NFC chip. That white QR code that is painted right into the stall is actually holding the QR chip behind it. Somebody placed the Apple sticker right above the NFC chip, but unfortunately placed the Google pay sticker to the right of the chip. When you placed your iPhone on the Apple sticker, it was conveniently slightly close enough to make contact with the NFC chip underneath it. But when you used the pixel phone, it was nowhere near the NFC chip

Him getting a #teampixel notification on his pixel he clearly can't use

The NFC reader on the pixel is towards the center of the phone not at the top like an iPhone.

One thing that you did not know, is that as I can see obviously you cannot seem to put your phone on the sticker as NFC, but you have to use QR code to pay with Google pay and like the iPhone
