Typically HTML is the first language learned by coders wanting to become a frontend developer and is use as part of a stack which includes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend of a website.
HTML was created by Sir Tim Berners Lee while he was working at CERN which is the location of the Large Hadron Collider where they discovered the God Particle.
The goal was to ensure people could freely share data all across the world, and so the World Wide Web was born.
HTML5 is the current version of HTML in use and includes semantic tags that makes a website more accessible and understandable.
