The only lawyer to get two Enlisted Marines off a Slam-Dunk Murder Charge and took down their Commanding Officer to do it.
Outstanding effort.
But you can't get promoted, you won't retire and no matter how hard you try, you will never be disbarred.
You should be a Supreme Court Judge by now or at least a Senator.

Kaffee reminds me of Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk). He seems and acts bad at his job, he’s inelegant and doesn’t seem to care what others think, but he’s quite brilliant.

Aaron Sorkin said he got the idea when he read an article about why so many high level military cases were being handled by Jr. Officers with very little time in the JAG Corps. Think about it, Kaffee is a Lt. JG. With 9 months of service. He was probably and Ensign just a few months ago. The Prosecutor, Marine Captain Jack Ross, is a Double Bar Captain. Turned out that many high ranking career officers did not want to take on high profile cases for fear of making someone mad by winning or losing and risk their Career. You would think a case like this would be Prosecuted and Defended by at least a Major or Lt. Commander.

There is no Internal Affairs in the Navy. So hearing Cruise asking about Demi Moore's character's jurisdiction to the case and hearing her response was so funny.

Also those Marines wouldn't be charged with conduct of unbecoming because that's a charge reserved for only officers.
