Stealth Bomber goes head to head with the HPC XC-2 in Drag Races, Top Speed, and Hill Climbing Tests. This is a confirmed 2012 Model Stealth Bomber and was purchased brand new one year ago! Customer has put on the older style hard sides with graphics instead of the carbon fiber sides (see new 2012 style seat stay). 2012 models are much faster than the older 2008-2009 models.

The REVOLUTION is coming!

I used to ride bikes from one end of town to the other and back as a teenager. I was in shape. Then a defect in my back caught up to me and I haven't touched one in 29 years. Im 46 now and have wanted an electric bike for years. I could pedal what I could then depend on the battery to get me home. Best of both worlds.

I took my Giant Roam, custom build my battery, a 48V 30ah pack,   to fit the triangle frame.  I use a Phoenix II motor and get about 42 mph top speed.  Cost me $1800 bucks not including the bike which I already had in my garage.  It gets me to work and school, about 18 miles round trip, with no problems.  In my truck, it takes about 15 minutes longer to get to work in the morning.  Using the bike, I beat the lights using the sidewalks and bike path.  I use this more than my truck.  Best purchase I ever made.

The Stealth has much longer suspension and a much more rigid frame, bigger brakes and bigger tyres too. You shouldn't even be comparing the two bikes they are designed for different riding. Testing them on a road is ridiculous they are off road machines. On rough singletrack the Stealth would kick the ass of the HPC.

Hi Mike. You might be interested to know we have already modified customer's Stealth Bombers with our 90V 26Ah system. We made these batteries exactly to fit within your existing case with about an inch more room on top! 2300Wh vs 1300Wh for the standard Stealth Battery. The voltage sag is only 3-4 volts compared to 10 with the standard Stealth Battery! Weight is only 2 lbs more!

Okay, sure it doesn't go as fast but for the same price, I'm pickin the flashier one without the black Nylon cover =D

One bike in this contest is an ebike, the other is a bike with a battery strapped to it. Lol.

I've had a lot of e-bikes including M1 Spitzen and Kalkhoff and given the fact that granted it does have a rear hub motor the quality of HPC bikes is I think the very best in the world. And the suspension is the most plush on any bike I've ever ridden. I considered a stealth but I'm very happy with my Revolution X which came out after this video

How about taking the stealth bomber off road, up and down some single track trails and try maxing the top speed out. I think the bomber would be way more fun for an experienced rider that wants to take risks and to push the limits of biking before getting into the electric dirt bike range. Me as a downhill rider what I'm looking for is anything that can take a hard ride and I don't care if it's 120 lbs. you can't compare these two bike in my opinion one is meant to take a beating and the other looks wimpy to take you through the city and get to your job. Stealth bomber is going to lighten up one day but to be able to go to the local trails and go faster than ever before would be unreal.

The bags are very secure and will not adversely affect handling at all. HOWEVER, we have a huge surprise coming at Interbike 2013. We will be launching the HPC Revolution. It is a handbuilt all aluminum downhill frame hand welded in the U.S. It will look similar to a Stealth Bomber, but slimmer, faster, more powerful, more agile, and 40 lbs lighter! We will offer both direct drive and also a mid-drive set up with our own made in the USA motor system. It really should be a game changer!

This was the equivalent of putting a cross country bike against a downhill bike. Of course the cross country bike will be more efficient, but the downhill bike is built to last much tougher stuff. Having said that, I still think the bomber is overpriced, but then again so is everything in higher end mountain biking

It's lighter sure. The Bomber is much sturdier though, thereby safer. You should include a terrain test. Granted it won't be as accurate.

also the voltage at the end i noticed on the cycle analyst is 79 volts for the stealth and 92 volts for the other one

Interesting comparison. I didn't realise the Stealth was that slow. It seems to be delivering about the same amount of power as my custom e-bike installation with a BBSHD and Phaserunner on a 21s pack. My bike weighs about the same as your XC-2 and has a top speed of 90 kmh/55 mph.

I agree. This HPC is a lot cheaper though. If you go for the bomber you are paying the premium for the ridiculously strong frame and great suspensions to take the most brutal downhill jumps.

I'll be getting the bomber :)

Though I'm not a fan of the Bomber, it sure as hell looks nice. Looking forward to video of your mid-drive.

awesome to see the two being compared. the Stealth bomber is just a bad ass looking bike though. I have a 4500W kit on my bike but it just doesnt look as polished and finised as the $10k Bomber. :)
