The Mazda 6 has received big updates for 2018, including a turbo petrol engine, a more powerful twin-turbo diesel, a handsome new face and a much improved interior. Is the 6 is better than the Toyota Camry, or even a Volkswagen Passat? Tom heads to country Victoria in a Mazda 6 Atenza to find out.

Great review, diesel option has now been scrapped in mid 2019 due to low sales approx only 4% compared to the turbo petrol at approx 45% of overall sales mix ....

Only thing strange is the wire exposed behind the rear view mirror, theres no cover for it hmmmm

Not sure how practical suede is on the better models. Suede is a bugger to clean compared to smooth leather.

About time Mazda put a decent engine and safety features in the 6. Had this been available 6 months ago, it would have been a serious option against the Superb 206 that now lives in the garage.

Impressive updates for the 6! Here’s to hoping they carry across some of the comfort tech goodies to the next CX-5 as well as the 2.5T although the updated diesel really does now offer a more competitive alternative.

I watch a lot of car reviews on YouTube and I have to say that you are one of the better ones out there. Keep up the good work. I will be following your channel closely. The Mazda itself is a good car however it’s still a 6 year old car. I wouldn’t be choosing this over a Passat.

About 1, 5 tons in sedan and more in wagon form? My 2.2D 175hp wagon weighs 1395kg. The 2.0 petrol (not sure if you get that Down Under) actually weighs only 1280kg. Not sure where you get the noise and ride quality issues from either. Did not know roads in Australia are that bad.
