Nice, honest review. As an owner of an OG M2 6 speed (that I love), I’ve watched several reviews from this event and saw a wide range of opinions.
Note that the WHEELBASE actually is 4.6” shorter than the M4, so it should rotate a bit better. It’s the TRACK width that’s the same as the M4 (same suspension except for tuning).

Excellent review. Love the honesty - including starting off with your true first impressions of the car. I guess it’s odd to expect anything different from the well publicized sum of its parts. Still, it’s a bummer that it seems to have lost some of the OG M2s qualities.

I honestly love this car. However, I think the 240i is the sweet spot for this car especially because of price. Also, I always find it funny seeing all the other reviewers in the same place! I love trying to spot them in each other's reviews.

I'm a BMW fan (I own 2 of them) and I especially like their M performance models but the full M cars are really disappointing across the board at the present moment. I think your description of fast and computerized is totally valid. I can tell even through a video. Not even the manual can save it

I bet the forums will hate on this review, but I felt that this was the best review so far for my consideration of buying the car. Straight to the point, no shilling. Although I think just trying the auto M2 wouldve probably made a difference. What are the best alternatives to this car then?

great review. i just got my allocation for one. i might get flamed for this, but if you are going to daily drive this, in NY traffic every day, i think you want a more refined car...that is also an auto.

For anybody looking at an F-chassis or G-chassis manual BMW: rear shift bushing. $100, an hour or two of time under the car, and the shifting experience is vastly improved. It's not perfect, but a very small investment to cure 75% of that 'rubbery feel'

Hi! I have to decide between the manual and the auto. I am usually that type of guy who loves a high reving NA-feeling manual drive. Would you say that the manual feels more like driving a high reving manual car and the auto is more like the usual turbo low revving power delivery? With my type of liking do you think the manual will be good for me? Thanks!

Not really sure what this reviewer wanted or expected from this car. The days of hydraulic steering and 1m kinda cars is over. Without all of that bias factoring in.. This car is great for what it offers.

Small correction: The M2 does not share the same wheelbase as the M4. It is several inches shorter. Your points are good tho, in that BMW will likely not make a tiny hot-rod going forward. Like all the newer sporty cars, even the likes of the Cayman, they have become more refined and GT-like. But be happy, because in 5 years, all these cars will be electric, have no gears and just 'whir' their way around.

at least one honest review. i'm honestly surprised though that everbody seems to agree on the fact that the automatic is the better pick. very disappointing that they messed up the manual imo

Ngl i thought this car looked really ugly at first but it's definitely grown on me. I think it has a sort of retro look to it. It reminds of the e36/e46 a bit with the boxy styling
