Maybe if you enable NTFS compression and disable the page file (if not already done so), it would significantly decrease the size of Windows.

If one could somehow liveboot windows off a USB, that would be super useful for a lot of people, for example Linux users with peripherals that don't have Linux versions of their software

Is 3gb considered small nowadays? It was possible to get only 1gb on windows 10, 500mb on 7 and less than 100mb on XP.
