WAIT... Remember Monsuno?

Monsuno was an interesting concept that tried its hand at being a cartoon, a trading card game an action figure line and more, but maybe just a handful of years too late from when the other properties in the same space were dominating and claimed their stay. Today, let's take a look at Monsuno to see how it tried to stand out and be different, what it was all about and what happened to it.

Thanks so much for watching! Did you ever give Monsuno a chance, whether it be the show itself or the card game?

This truly just unlocked one of those deep memories. I adored Monsuno as a kid - loved the animation, story, characters, everything. It felt so cool and I wish it continued for longer/was expanded upon more but am grateful for what was created. It was a lot of fun.

This opening was great. Reminded me of Bakugan. Loved watching Monsuno and koved combining beasts and geology, kinda like Crystal Beasts from GX.

Aside from Digimon and perhaps Bakugan, This is was the "Mon" show with the best original concept. The human characters were tolerated at best, but the monsters and their designs always amazed me. It's disgusting how it was practically forgotten.

I think Monsuno should have tried to break into the video game scene. The toys and card games weren't too enticing from what i remember, but this show could have made some pretty good games. And yes putting it on Nicktoons was pretty damning. I could never find the show when it was airing.

I watch approximately a half episode of this show when it aired, but for whatever reason the polar bear and the main character were etched into my mind. I couldn’t find it on the internet, and decided to wait until you inevitability made a video about this show. Thank you, now I can stop wondering.

Im literally so happy you talked about this. I watched monsuno as a kid, remembered it at the end of the 9th grade, developed a special interest for it and was in the fandom for a while on tumblr. What fascinates me the most about the show is its voice cast. Not only did it have cam clarke as chase, christopher smith as bren, karen strassman as jinja, keith silverstein as dax and kirk thornton as beyal, those were also the ONLY voice actors who worked on the show, meaning they also voiced the allies, side characters, villains etc. Karen strassman literally voiced EVERY SINGLE female character in the series. I liked the show and the effort put into it makes me like it even more, from the voices, the theme song thats sung by the same people who made "like a g6", all the way down to how entertaining it was for me as a child, and how weird it was that everybody used to love it and own merch of it but now it feels like it just disappeared off the face of the earth. And although it DEFINITLY had some problems(*cough cough MEDEA cough cough DOM PYRO*) its one of those shows i fondly look back at, and definitly one i'd like to watch with my friends during a cartoon marathon.

I like to believe all the card/monster type games take place in the same universe - kind of a like a MCU type deal, and they were all building up to an epic crossover we never got.

Great video, dude! 🌸

I was always so into these kinds of shows (Pokémon, Digimon, Monsuno, Bakugan, Redakai) but I never once bothered with or cared about the card games and toys. I think I had about 7 Bakugan and most of them were from the last season, even though I’d been watching from Season 2. There’s a special place in my heart for these shows though, wish some of them (like Monsuno) could have gone on longer :D

This was one of those shows that was always in the back of my mind but I could never remember much about it, even the name. One thing I hadn't forgotten was the theme song which slaps!

Honestly, monsuno needs more love than this. I love both the design of the characters and the story. They’re isn’t enough love for one of my many
favorite series. 😢😢😢

Im a huge fan of Monsuno and i was sad to see it go. Out of all the monster catcher shows out there, it will always hold a special place in my heart, even among Pokemon which i mostly have connections to.

I definitely could see someone who grew up with this show eventually trying to reboot or continue the show.

I always wondered what happened to this series

I was that weird kid/pre teen that got into everything game-side, be it beyblade, yugioh, pokemon, bakugan... If it had a cool tv series and a fun game my friends and I could play after school, I gave it a try.
So yeah, Monsuno was definitely on my radar. I remember I had a few of the toys and watched the series, but after a while I just stopped seeing them in stores and Nick/Nicktoons stopped airing it, eventually my friends and I went onto other games and whatever I had was stored away in a box in my closet so I essentially forgot about it until I found a sealed toy in a Kohl's some time back in 2018. No clue why it was there four years after ending, but it was.

I remember being really into Monsuno with it being one of the last shows I remember really being into on TV, my issue was the lack of availability of the product. No matter where I went I couldn't find Monsuno toys or anything to do with the TCG. In comparison everywhere I looked was selling Beyblades, Bakugan and such making them much easier to get into
