I can imagine Ivy borrowing this top to wear in an 80's style look to hang out with her friends.

I like this example because it showed the concept not against taking in or out. But in height. The payoff of flattering your shape is not muddied. Where something hits being perfect is such a good investment.

I sew as a hobby and I have been telling people this for years! Sometimes one hem is the difference between something you wont wear to something you love!
I love making tweaks to things I thrift or just things I bought a long time ago that I didn't end up wearing!

Yes! I’m always tailoring my clothes for the best fit. It takes time but it’s always worth it.

I love being able to sew. If I don't like something I just change it. Seen people looking like how does she always look perfect in clothes? ❤

I've had people toll their eyes at me when I've had thriftwear (or giftwear) tailored. Why would I waste money on something that was cheap/free? Because it looks right and feels right afterwards.

I love your advice!! I’ve been a little upset because I can’t figure out why my clothes don’t look as good on me as before. Being retired and switching from business suits to mostly casual wear has been a challenge because I still like style and fashion.

But my body is changing as I get older—in spite of taking Pilates classes 3Xweek—and I’m having a time figuring out what looks good. I am 5‘9“ and have always been pretty slim – and my arms and legs still are– but the middle/ muffin top/love handles are a challenge!! I’m not obsessed with being thin or society’s beauty standards. But I still want my fashion to make me feel good, look classy and carry myself with confidence.

Do you have a blog or video about changing your style to fit your figure after 50?

Thanks so much!

I wish more people would know the joy of getting clothes tailored! When I worked in luxury fashion I would actually pin the clothes on my client and drop them off for them off at our tailor across the street we worked with. You have to love Carmel :)
