It's inspiring to see leadership which both appreciates stability and which promotes the innovations necessary to achieve it in a chaotic world! I'm particularly keen to see how the Global Security Initiative develops, given how current events prove the need for such cooperation. I hope someday our US leadership will see the value in this cooperation, but in all likelihood they will end up being among the last to come to the table. They prefer to control the shape of globalization for narrow self interest, but this will no longer be possible if these structures for cooperation find widespread support. I have hope that as US imperial ambition abroad fades along with the power of those who pursue it, the people of the United States will finally be able to wield their government for the benefit of the population at large.
