I Learn to Foil Board 6 - Foiling while the wind dies down.. - Hydrofoil Kiteboarding

Показать описание
The sixth episode of my Adventure to learn to ride a foil board! A hydrofoil kiteboard video series, starting from no experience on foil boards at all, up to hopefully gybing and tacking along!!

Last episode I was trying to actually get lifted from the water on the foil for the first time. This episode I am trying to gain more speed, extend my rides, and generally gain more confidence and have more fun riding! I'm also taking out two different kites because the wind drops during the day so I have to size up!

The spot is Foil Beach, Qatar. Right in the Middle East where I've lived for some time now. Amazing conditions for a big part of the year, let's say October until June!

Subscribe and like my video if you enjoyed it! I also have a facebook page with the latest updates and of course some eye candy on instagram. And on my blog I write about my adventures!

The equipment used in this video is:
- Zeeko Aluminium Foil
- Shinnster board
- North Rebel 12m kite

The soundtracks in this video are:
Intro: Geographer - Synth Wind
Outro: Geographer - Gentle Breeze

Thanks for sharing. It's great to see the progress. I'd ride the kite higher in the wind window. You don't have a lot of margin for error when the tip is so close to the water. I'd also waterstart with the kite moving a little to the opposite side while initiating and bring it back up sooner. There were a lot of times when it was just diving for the water. Great perseverance. I'm about to convert to foilboarding. I'm pretty good with the twin tip but know the foiling learning curve is steep. You make learning it look easier than other people's attempts. Thanks again for sharing

Interesting I have never seen this style of water surfing but it looks fun but a little hard at the same time. The wipeouts were cool to see although I'm sure they were not as entertaining to yourself.

Ciao, i'm a foilboarder too, if i can say something, it looks that sometimes you are keeping the kite too low, this gives you less stability when it pulls for the change of the wind and when is really low try to let the board more downwind when you start so that you can get more speed and engage the foil faster. great video.

... another thing I thought about... the kite flies better when the center lines are not twisted. I'd take the time to unwind them before waterstarting

Which GoPro or action camera were you using for this video? Great video stabilization.
