I think the BAH for VR&E will be at the E5 rate (without dependents) in your local area. I don’t wanna go back to school but it’s looking like I’ll go that route since there isn’t much apprenticeships going on, keep it up bro 💯🔥

#1 Apply for the chapter 31 benefit
#2) if you are approved there are factors like ( full time student 12 or more units} receives the full subsistence allowance
#3) ZIP code may be a factor as well for amount of pay
#4) if u take online courses vs. in person courses changes what your monthly pay deposit amount will be
#5) the type of degree you are pursuing matters as well for the benefit that you are receiving {I.E.tECHNOLOGY}

Yes, I got to use Post 911 BAH instead of the VR&E stipend, still in school, graduate in 2026.

My VR&E counselor was a bit unresponsive and my eligibility was gonna expire end of June 2021, still dont know why they didnt cover all Vets in the forever bill instead of just those after 2013. So I was already approved for VR&E and had met with my counselor and let him know I wanted to use Post 911 BAH before it expired but he was a bit deflective. Well, after my eligibility date came and went I thought I missed out but once I met up with him 4 months later and getting ready to start school, he told me that since I let him know in emails that I would get Post 911 BAH.

I was not eligible for post 911 but got accepted for VR&E. I have 1 dependent. Even I am not eligible for post 911, will I get monthly housing allowance through VR&E?

@TheStrokeofLuck - So if im understanding you correctly, if one has the "One Day" left remaining on the P911 GI Bill, they will qualify for BAH the entire time they're using VR&E? What if I've already transferred the entire 36 months to my dependent?

so another question, I still have Post 9/11 left but since the "delimiting" date has passed, I don't have access to it unless I get activated for Federal active duty for 90 days ( I serve in the national guard currently) then my delimiting date will be "GI Bills forever status" so my VR&E BAH is crap.

I am running into an issue where the jobs I want require experience and specific knowledge on software (marketing jobs) Degree programs wont help and certifications don't cover the programs needed. Any advice on how I can use VR&E effectively? Thanks again! Hpefully you flight school stuff gets a good ending!

Hey buddy quick question. I havn't used my p911 yet and planning to go with VRE route, now I only have 60% gi bill rate since I only served not that long because of my disabilities. Do I get 100% rate BAh of VRE or same with my p911 which is 60% rate? Thanks buddy

I get anxiety when driving (in intersections when cars are coming at me specifically). But I’m in a fixed wing pilot program. I want to fly for airlines. Do you think the VR&E folks will deny me if I talk about the driving thing being a limiting factor to my work?

Hi, I am using VR&E but when do you get the housing allowance? 1st of the month? I'm 2 months in and only got 1 payment... kinda of upset. My rep isn't getting back to me.

I must have missed something. If you meet all requirements, do you have to apply to get the BAH stipend instead of the regular stipend? Or is it that if you have at least 1 day of Post 911 GI bill, you automatically get the E-5 Stipend? If you do get approved and get E-5 stipend instead of regular stipend, does that affect your BAH from the GI Bill?

So I used up my g.i bill but i was granted the STEM program which extends the g.i bill for 9 months. Would I still be eligible for full BAH with VR&E?

I was accepted into the VR&E program and haven’t used my P911 yet. If I activate the higher BAH rates, will I use up my P911 benefits and the 36 months?
