This literally only started happening within the last two days so it has to be something within the game with so many people having issues all at once.

I have played Overwatch 2 on launch, on the highest quality, no lagging/stuttering/fps drops, it ran real smooth. I had a blast playing it for a couple of games. After a few days, when I opened the game, queued for quick play, suddenly it is now experiencing massive stuttering and fps drops, even freezing for more than 10 seconds while in-game. I have tried everything I could find for a solution including this guide, but to no avail.

There is a post in the forums posted 4 days ago concerning this, titled "Suddenly unplayable frame rate as of yesterday", someone replied mentioning that it is also happening on high-end pc. My laptop is not high-end but it is also not a potato and somewhat decent enough to run this as evident to my first experience to this game's launch. What seems to be the problem here?

A few things i've noticed is 1. Alt tabbing out the game can have an impact ( this was an old thing from OW1) go to settings > graphics > reduce buffering and apply it off and on. make sure you hit apply each time. 2. sometimes your graphics settings reset to high so check before each session. 3. my settings went from fullscreen to windowed mode which has an impact to.

I am having a stuttering issue where at the start of games i am having really bad stutters, fps surprisingly stays consistent throughout the time but the longer i play it slowly starts to get better can take up to 5minutes before it starts to smooth out again whys it doing this? its very annoying and only just recently started doing this any ideas?

Update - I found the issue for me, i was messing about with my settings and i must of changed the power mode it might not be your issue but i would check your power mode just incase, it should be set to best performance under settings - system - power - powermode - best performance, as soon as i changed it problem solved.

Have tried all combos of Gsync/Reduce Buffering/Vsync/FPS caps/ etc. It's not discord, nor RTSS/MSI, nor my nvidia/windows update. I've tried priorities, and maximum performances, still stuttering every few seconds, competitivley unplayable.

Just writing this so others know I'm abit lost at this point too.

It's so weird I played OW1 on high settings no issue, then OW2 came out and now I have severe lag spikes..

My GPU is an RTX 2060 and my core is an i5 but I don't think I should be having this lag even on medium/low settings.

THANK YOU. I was having an issue where OW stuttered only while I was streaming. No other game did this, and it was not an issue on the internet side of things. I wasn't even dropping frames on stream. Limiting threads was the ONLY thing that fixed it. I've been at this for days with a million different solutions. Thank you.

For those of you in need, I was experiencing an issue that made my entire game lag on start up. The menu would take like 3 minutes to fully load and it would constantly freeze every 2-3 seconds. After it settled it would be fine but when I went into a match, it was like 3 frames per second always. I had played the game for 2 weeks just fine and then suddenly this happened. I tried everything to fix it, checking my drivers for errors, updated drivers, updated windows, scanned and repaired the game files, deleted the game and reinstalled multiple times, switched the game over to my ssd, changed the in game graphic settings to the lowest, turned off game bar and game mode, turned off discord hardware acceleration, tried multiple commands, disabled Microsoft root enumerator, and some more that I cant remember. But after all that, nothing. Then I tried to delete both the game and the launcher and after reinstalling it again it finally worked. So if you haven't already delete the launcher and the game and try to reinstall it.

It baffles me how little game changed visually yet I played the first one in low to normal settings with 60 fps. Now i have a pixelly MESS on my screen and it cannot even reach 60, staying 20-30 in matches. Thats bs, they just stole my comfort game and gave me this abomination of a game

I had to turn off MSI Afterburner and RTSS because those for some reason cause massive stuttering, and lag spikes. I also noticed that Discord Overlay gave also created stuttering and turning that off completely stopped it....

I don't know why but I'll get terrible audio lag and frame drops for about 30 seconds and then it goes back to normal. Does that every couple minutes and Idk why it does that. I've tried everything

Also another tip is to turn off MSI Afterburner and RTSS as those for some reason cause massive stuttering spikes.

I downloaded ow2 a few days after its launch and for the days after i download it was completely fine but i decided to go on it today and realised that i was stuttering and my weapon wasn't loading. I've played other games such as dead by daylight and they're completely fine so i don't know what to do.
