In the movie Odyssey 2010 Jupiter becomes a star. Great movie.

If there was enough gas we would have had a tripple star

Wow, there's an endless supply of hydrogen. Let's go make a pipeline.

Here's the thing with Jupiter on 1 hand you can say it is not a failed star because it is not massive enough to be what we consider a failed star, but on the other hand you can say it is a failed star because if you know the composition of our solar system you know Jupiter is not massive enough is because there wasn't enough mass leftover after the formation of the sun.

Not a failed star...the game is a long ways from over.

Then explain to me why there are stars in the universe that are smaller than the Sun and the size of Jupiter?

This is why I made the comment somewhere else that I agree with 90% of what he says. 10% is just a bureaucratic way to hypothesize things that can't explain in science.

I’ll believe Neil over you with access to the internet and a collection of 2025 encyclopedias. Yes I know it’s 2024. Let that sink in. Also earth isn’t 78% nitrogen the atmosphere is. Smfh 🤦🏾‍♂️

The crazy part of a star is exactly how much of it is actually undergoing fusion. I always thought the WHOLE thing is.

But no. Only about 1% of the star, at the innermost core, does nuclear fusion actually happen. It goes to show that even with a whole star, fusion is HARD to make happen.

Could Jupiter be growing and eventually it will be a star?

A failed star is called a brown dwarf not a gas giant

Jupiter is NOT a failed star. 98% hydrogen, to Earth's 78% nitrogen. Neil has a failing synaptic region.
