I've been using a prusa mk3 for the past three years as my main printer. Is this new printer worth the upgrade?

I wish I had the electrical engineering and mechanical engineering knowledge that you do Dan. I love watching your videos for inspiration for my own projects. Keep it up!

5:09 the steel parts dont care as long as they are lubricated and the motors will be ok as long as they are rated for the heat

Looks like a nice printer. It's interesting to see how many companies are adopting the "bambu" style of kinematics and enclosure.

I love the Q1 Pro. I've had 4 other 3D printers and the only one(s) I liked were my Creality 3 V2's. Gave them away when I got and used the Q1 Pro. Customer service is fantastic! The only filament I've printed with is PLA but with this printer I'll be trying a lot of different filaments. This does take 5 minutes or so to start up (leveling, purging, etc.), but that's ok because I don't have to watch it, just start the print and go away.

HI Dan. In my opinion ASA would be a better option that ABS for your outdoor birdhouse. I will be starting my journey with ASA and ABS soon on my 2 Q1 pros.
Just a quick negative point on the Q1 Pro. It doesn't have an active carbon filter like on the X Max 3. but there are some nice mods for it. I will not print ABS, ASA without a filter.
I'll come back to your channel to post on these very nice printers. And I hope your experience has been as good as mine.

I would have subbed today purely because I like your honesty and objectivity re reviews of free items. I also like your insight re heated chamber sub component wear. However, while I understand your comment about buying a replacement with your own cash, we all know that as soon as the manufacturers got wind of a breakdown a replacement would be winging its way to you, because they can! Once you step on the ‘free’ train it’s difficult to get off. Others, like Project Farm, stay away from it, with success.

Nice, quick review! One tiny note: ASA would have been even better, as it is the UV-resistant variant of ABS.

As a fellow creator, albeit on a much smaller scale, I think without sponsorship from these companies, we wouldn't be able to produce content. At least, I couldn't afford all the equipment and materials on my own. Regarding objectivity, it's true that it takes a hit; it's just honest not to deny that. One of my sponsors is a larger marketplace, and they allow me to choose the devices I want to make videos on. This forces me to do the same kind of research as if I were actually paying for the product, experiencing the same frustrations if it didn't live up to the claims.

This time, I had the choice between the Creality K1C, K1 Max, and the Qidi Q1 Pro. Guess which one I chose based on my research and my current set of printers. I haven't yet received the Q1P, so we'll see if I made the right decision...

If a YouTuber receives a gadget for free it will more likely result in a more favorable review. Basically most people would not mention minor “annoyances” since they didn’t pay for it with their own money. Not to mention that it is technically not true when a reviewer states “it is not paid nor sponsored review” but he/she gets to keep the product. Well, it is not a cash transaction but keeping a pricey product is a form of compensation. Returning the review unit would be appropriate if you want to keep your reviews somewhat unbiased.
