This is my 2X1000W streetlamp from 1970's. This lamp used at Hungary. The fixture was designed at 1970 for the lighting the Dozsa Gyorgy ut at Budapest. The lamp has 2XE40 Base and can handle 2X HGLI1000, that can be produce 110.000lm!!!!
I dont have the original Ballasts, so i used two HGFA400W Mercury ballasts in parralel for testing per bulb. The bulbs are original Tungsram HGLI1000 High Pressure Mercury Vapour Lamps from the 1970's. These lamps was started first at today since 1970's
Nowdays its a really rare fixture. Without the PFC Caps the lamp can eat around 2400Watts of power at 230V.

Wow. In Poland we had only one fixture for 1000watt Mercury lamp. It was called Mesko (brand) OUR 1000 . But 2x1000 - WOW. Try to run 2x1000 watt MH lamp in the same ballast configuration. You will get even more lumens :)

What a monster! I wonder how much people had to pay for the electricity.
